“We are living in a culture entirely hypnotized by the illusion of time, in which the so-called present moment is felt as nothing but an infinitesimal hairline between an all-powerfully causative past and an absorbingly important future. We have no present. Our consciousness is almost completely preoccupied with memory and expectation. We do not realize that there never was, is, nor will be any other experience than present experience. We are therefore out of touch with reality. We confuse the world as talked about, described, and measured with the world which actually is. We are sick with a fascination for the useful tools of names and numbers, of symbols, signs, conceptions and ideas.” ― Alan Watts
This video is really thought provoking, trippy and kind of hard to really put together…
As I was watching it I just started writing what I thought, what came to mind. The philosophy and deepness in this just makes you think and kind of takes you on a journey. I have always been intrigued by philosophy and it really just makes you think. Here’s what came to mind:
“There is unlimited knowledge in the unknown…
There is power in letting go…
There is one thing I know for certain… is that I know nothing at all…
What do we really have control over, outside of ourselves?…our thoughts…our emotions…our actions…?
There is an unlimited source of power, wisdom, knowledge, truth but when will we ever know all things?…if ever?
Is this journey called life real? or just an illusion? Will we ever know the unknown?”
It just came, it just flowed, almost felt like a poem but I have never really written a poem before so I just let it be. I just let go… let it happen, natural, raw, unique… just as I am writing this right now. Go with the flow.
Enjoy what you have NOW, what’s right in front of you, the person your with, yourself, your thoughts, your mind, feelings, emotions… just let it flow.
Because the things we are searching for come to us when we are not looking for it at all… random, a surprise, unexpected.
“Philosophy is man’s expression of curiosity about everything and his attempt to make sense of the world primarily through his intellect.” ―Alan Watts
